This week, our Wine Wednesday adventure explores the diverse terroirs of Querétaro, Valle de Bernal, Valle de San Vicente in Baja California, and the high-elevation vineyards surrounding San Miguel de Allende in Guanajuato. Mexico’s New Wine Frontier
Unlike many traditional wine regions, Mexico’s finest vineyards rely on elevation rather than latitude. Many are planted between 4,000 and 6,500 feet above sea level, where warm sunny days are balanced by cool nighttime temperatures. These dramatic diurnal shifts preserve acidity while allowing grapes to develop exceptional flavor and complexity.

Located in central Mexico beneath the famous Peña de Bernal monolith, this high-elevation region has become one of Mexico’s premier areas for sparkling wine.
