Vincent Paris — Cornas Producer Profile

Producers · Northern Rhône

Vincent Paris.

Cornas from steep granite, made with whole-cluster restraint and serious patience.

About the estate

Granite, gradient, and the most overlooked producer in Cornas.

Vincent Paris took over the family estate in 1997 and has been quietly building one of the most respected Cornas operations of his generation. The vineyards sit on some of the steepest terraced granite slopes in the appellation, with parcels averaging more than 50 years of age and the flagship Granit 60 cuvée drawn from vines that average 60 years old.

The work is meticulous. Whole-cluster fermentation, short macerations, neutral oak aging, and minimal sulfur. The wines are concentrated but never heavy — a study in what restrained Northern Rhône Syrah can do when the terroir is allowed to lead.

House style

Granite-driven Syrah with bright acid and a long mineral finish.

Cornas as a category sometimes gets a reputation for big, brooding Syrah. Vincent Paris pushes back against that. His wines are concentrated but lifted — fresh acid, white pepper, violet, smoke, and granite minerality all present in measured proportion.

Aging windows are long. The basic Cornas drinks well from year five to year fifteen. Granit 60 rewards twenty years of patience and will continue developing at year thirty in good cellaring conditions. The 2021 release in particular is one of the most exciting wines we have tasted from this estate.

What we have on the floor

Granit 60 is the showpiece. Other cuvées vary by vintage.

Vincent Paris Cornas “Granit 60” 2021 — pure granite, 60-year-old vines, structural Syrah at the top of its game. View in shop.

Vincent Paris Cornas “La Geynale” — vintage variable. Different parcel, slightly more accessible early.

Vincent Paris Saint-Joseph “Les Côtes” — the entry point to the estate. Outstanding value for what the bottle delivers.
