On paper, organic wine is a great idea. 

By growing grapes organically, you deliver higher quality fruit often with more vibrant aromas and flavors. And in theory, you help to protect the environment by reducing the amount of harmful chemicals that can accumulate in the soil and the water table. 

There’s a famous line in German-born French composer Jacques Offenbach’s opéra bouffe “La Vie Parisienne” that goes:

“The thing I can’t understand is why people in Paris drink bad wine in big glasses and good wine in small ones.”

When it comes to choosing the right stemware for your wine, the shape of the glass is more important than you might realize. And the reasons for this may surprise even the most wine-savvy among us. 

The two biggest components of wine are alcohol and water. The balance of these two ingredients determines the flavor and texture of the wine, and the way you perceive it on your palate. 

2020 has been an interesting year to say the least. Socializing looks a lot different this year, and we’ve had to say see you later to everything from concerts and bars to family reunions and vacations. 

But what if we told you that one thing you don’t need to skip this summer is a beer festival? Cue a sigh of relief.

With the arrival of warmer temperatures and a shift to outdoor dining, it’s time to pivot to fresher-style and lighter wines that pair well with seasonal foods and dishes. There’s nothing more refreshing than a crisp glass of sparkling, white, and rosé wine on a hot summer day — especially since we tend to indulge in spicier foods during summer months.
