There’s nothing like ski season to remind us how much we love Riesling. Whether the age-worthy sweet-style wines of Mosel, Germany, or the bone-dry versions from Austria, Riesling is the ultimate “Alpine” wine.

We couldn’t be more thrilled that we have obtained a small allocation off wines from rising-star producer Unterlind in Mosel, one of our favorite producers.

Unterlind is a new winery established in 2019 by the visionary duo of Heiner Bollig and Veronika Bollig-Litner. Heiner Bollig was previously the vineyard manager at Egon Müller. Weingut Unterlind is dedicated to crafting exceptional Rieslings that embody the unique essence of the Mosel Valley. Embracing a minimalistic approach, they strive to create wines that epitomize the true character of the region. Their youthful energy and modern approach have quickly captivated enthusiasts. 2020 was their inaugural vintage. All of the Unterlind wines are classically styled Mosel Rieslings with natural grape sweetness retained by stopping the fermentation part of the way through. They display delicacy and excellent balance.
