The Grand European Wine Tour Returns with GERMANY month!
The Grand European Wine Tour Returns:
Germany Month Begins
Wine Wednesday, June 3 | 5:00–7:00 PM
This summer, the Boulder Wine Merchant embarks on a month-long exploration of Germany, one of the world’s most dynamic and misunderstood wine-producing countries. From steep slate-covered vineyards overlooking the Mosel River to the limestone-rich hillsides of Rheinhessen and the sun-soaked vineyards of the Pfalz and Baden, Germany offers extraordinary diversity, precision, and value.
Our tour begins this Wednesday with a deep dive into the Mosel and its tributary, the Ruwer, home to some of the most dramatic vineyard landscapes in the world. Here, impossibly steep slopes of blue and gray slate produce Rieslings of unmatched purity, energy, and longevity. The combination of cool climate, reflective river influence, and ancient soils creates wines that balance vibrant acidity, mineral tension, and remarkable complexity.
Over the coming weeks we will continue our journey through:
Rheingau & Rheinhessen – Germany’s historic and modern heartland, where great Riesling meets innovative winemaking and diverse terroirs.
Pfalz & Baden – Germany’s warm-climate regions, producing richer, broader styles of Riesling along with outstanding Pinot varieties and Burgundian-inspired wines.
Germany’s Great Reds – A final exploration of Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir), Lemberger, and other regional red wines that are increasingly earning international acclaim.
Join us as we discover why Germany remains one of the most exciting wine regions in the world.
