VRAC Macon Chardonnay 2021, Burgundy, France

This is a fabulous expression of unoaked Chardonnay from the southernmost region of Burgundy.  Its lush texture offers plenty of richness, making it a good satisfying wintertime white.  Aromas and flavors of yellow apple with a touch of tropical fruit are balanced by plenty of minerality and a crisp acidity.  In France, wines sold “en vrac” are dispensed at a winery into the customers’ own containers.  (We wish that we could have this wine on tap by the gallon!) Pair this with poultry in a cream sauce, trout almondine, or risotto.
