The Wolftrap 2021 Red Blend, South Africa
Wolftrap is a blend of 80% Syrah, 19% Mourvèdre, and 1% Viognier. It wafts from the glass with rich and ripe dark fruits accented by bramble and spice. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with black raspberries and red plums intermixed with earth, olive tapenade, black pepper, vanilla, and cloves. The tannins are chewy and satisfying. Wolftrap is made by the Boekenhoutskloof winery, which was established in 1776 in the Franschhoek Valley. This bold, personality-filled red will stand up well to your backyard barbecue.
