The Eyrie Vineyards “Sisters” Pnot Noir 2017, Dundee Hills, Willamette Valley
David Lett founded Eyrie in 1965 and pioneered growing Pinot Noir in Oregon. Pinot Noir grapes from the Sisters Vineyard are fermented with wild yeast and aged in barrels, 19% of which are new oak. Enjoy a highly complex bouquet evoking ripe red fruits, incense, candied flowers, musky earth and exotic spices. Finely detailed bitter cherry and red currant flavors occupy the palate and that steadily turn riper and deeper through the mid-palate. Shows outstanding clarity and mineral cut on the gently tannic finish, which hangs on with superb, floral-driven tenacity.
