Pere Mata ‘Cupada’ Brut Nature Cava 2019
In a region dominated by massive producers buying grapes from hundreds of growers, Pere Mata is a very small producer focused on estate-bottling. He organically farms 5 hectares of vines in Sant Sadurní d’Anoia. Following 24 months of aging on its lees, it was disgorged with zero dosage, providing a striking purity. Fresh, bright and clean with white flowers and citrus lifting the slight bready quality. The fruit component really pops in this cuvée. Complex enough to keep you coming back for more but simple enough to drink with reckless abandon.
