Pascal Biotteau Anjou Rouge, Loire 2020

This is an energetic and classy Loire red from fourth-generation winemaker Pascal Biotteau. It is an unoaked blend of  80% Cabernet Franc and  20% Cabernet Sauvignon intended more for your dinner table than sipping on its own. Expect a fresh red with a light-to-medium body.  It jumps from the glass with a bouquet of dark berries, black cherries, tree bark, and herbs.  On the palate, the wine has a snappy brightness and finely focused tannins. Pair is with tomato beef stew, turkey with cranberry, and herbed roast chicken or rack of lamb.
