Niepoort is one of the great Port houses and is now in its sixth generation of tradition and innovation.Their Ruby is a blend of organically grown local varieties (Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca,Tinto Cão, Tinta Francisca, Tinta Amarela, Sousão, Tinta Roriz). That were hand-harvesting foot trodden. After 50% of fermentation is complete, the wine is fortified with brandy spirit, then aged in large old oak casks at Vila Nova de Gaia for 3 years.This results is a wine with both high sugar and high alcohol levels that has gained smoothness and elegance while retaining its fruitiness, intensity and youthful ruby color. Enjoy aromas and flavors of sweet cherries, cassis, black plums, and red fruit jam with supple tannins.
