Monsalaia Toscana Rosso 2020

The Castellani Family has produced classic wines in Tuscany for more than 150 years. Every generation has sought their own path, and found new areas of Italian wine to explore. The newest generation chose Maremma as the next wine region for the Castellani family to focus its resources. They were some of the first to experiment with the concept of “Super-Tuscans” a few decades ago and have been rewarded for their efforts. “Super-Tuscan” is a blanket term for wines that blend Italian Sangiovese with French grapes, mostly Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Monsalaia is exactly that: 50% Sangiovese, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 20% Merlot. True to form with aromas of dark fruits and cherry leading to an intense array of baking spices and vanilla. Big, bold, and beautiful.
