Mirabello Spumante Rosé, Italy
Mirabello Brut Rosé Spumante comes from the area around Lake Garda in Italy’s Veneto region. This wine is made from 95% Garganega and 5% Brachetto. Garganega is the grape responsible for Soave, and this wine shows it’s characteristic notes of white flowers and crisp tree fruits. The Brachetto is brought over from Piedmont, where it is used to make fruity red dessert wines and occasionally a dry red wine. This is what gives the wine its rosé color and notes of strawberries, raspberries, and cherries. The wine is made like Prosecco to maintain freshness, but there is a hint of yeastiness to add complexity. Fun and easy-drinking, this is the perfect wine to serve at informal gatherings.
