Leth Grüner Veltliner Ried Steinagrund 2020, Wagram

Established in the early 1960s, Weingut Leth has become a renowned winery in Fels am Wagram in just three generations. The Wagram region of Austria is home to Europe’s most extensive loess soil formations. Gruner Veltliner from Wagram tend to be relatively deep and rich. This bottling hails from the single, terraced Steinagrund vineyard. Leth’s organically grown wine is vinified in stainkess steel before spending some time in large, neutral Acacia oak barrels. The bouquet promises fresh fruits and ripeness as well: look for yellow apple, honey melon and a hint of quince. Subtle exotic hints enhance the juicy feeling on the palate, while the classic aspects of Grüner Veltliner with pronounced herbal, spicy and peppery fruit are evident more during the long aftertaste. Bone dry with a vivid finish. It offers a strong price-to-quality ratio.
