La Spinetta “Il Rosé di Casanova” 2021, Toscana

The Rivetti brothers have transformed their estates into benchmark producers of Barolo, Barbaresco, Barbera, Moscato and for the last 10 years, Sangiovese. Worldwide, La Spinetta is known for producing some of Italy’s finest wines. Central to their success is a fanatical devotion to great vineyards, old vines and low production, quality grapes through organic farming.  Their Tuscan rosé is  made from a blend of sustainably farmed 50% Sangiovese and 50% Prugnolo Gentile.  Following vinification, it aged in stainless steel tanks on its lees for about 3 months. Expect a delicate and focused wine inspired by Provencal Rosés. Look for aromas and flavors of white strawberries and red apple skin. On the palate, it is wonderfully fresh and delicate with satisfying minerality and an all-embracing acidity. We scooped this up at a deal– is regularly sold for $24.98. Enjoy it with pizza, salad niçoise, paella, or Camembert.
