Antonio Lamona has been mastering the blending of his separately vinified Montepulciano and Sangiovese for many years, with varying degrees of tannic structure, freshness, and fruit. Here, he feels he has finally achieved what he has been looking for – a robust, ripe wine with terrific acidity and gorgeous aromatics that combines the approachability of Montepulciano with the intensity of Sangiovese. The grapes come from a single vineyard of dry-farmed, organic grapes. After a gentle fermentation and aging in stainless steel tanks, the wine is left to rest in-bottle before being released. Aromas of cherries and dark fruits lead into hints of chocolate and spices.
