Fuso ‘Cala’ Terre Siciliane Rosso 2019
Fuso is a project led by Dario Serrentino focusing on the natural Italian wines or what they call “daily drinkers.” By working with farmers and producers committed to organic viticulture and low-intervention winemaking they hope to make wines with character and soul. The grapes for this wine come from Val di Noto in Sicily’s southeastern point where the climate is best described as “desert-like” (geographically it is closer to the equator than a portion of Tunisia). Made from co-fermented Nero d’Avola and Grillo that are harvested in August, this wine is full of wild berries, dried flowers, and a hint of muskiness. Best served with a slight chill.
