Famille Dénis Chenin Blanc 2021, Loire Valley

The 4th generation of the Dénis family now runs Domaine Petit Clocher in Anjou. Their Anjou Blanc is grown on primarily schist soils and gets a touch of oak influence from used barrels. It is hard to find value-priced Loire Chenin, and this one is impressive. The pleasant aromatics of yellow peach, golden pear, chamomile tea, honey, gardenia, and ripe honeydew melon are just beautiful. The palate is mouthfilling, with swaths of white peach, apple skin, and minerals.  A balancing acidity adds lift to the full body.   You will find this to be very versatile with an array of foods from white bean stew to pork belly.
