Our first wine from the 2023 vintage is this fruit salad in a glass! Essay White is a unique blend of 72% Chenin Blanc, 17% Roussanne, and 11% Viognier. Enjoy generous flavors of yellow apples and white peach on a medium body. “Essay” refers to the popular abbreviation for South Africa (S.A.) as well as implying an “assemblage” or blending of varieties to create a harmonious wine greater than its parts. The vineyards are unirrigated and planted on old Malmesbury shale soils producing wines with distinctive flavor and texture. Especially tasty with ham, curried chicken salad, or roasted butternut squash.
