Donna Laura “Ali” Toscana Rosso 2019, Italy

Ali is a “baby super Tuscan” from Castelnuovo Berardenga in Chianti.  It is a blend of 90% Sangiovese and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon.  Think Chianti with more heft. Tobacco and leather accents lend complexity to its dark cherry fruit.  The dry tannins have a velvety grip and make this wine better suited for the dinner table than for sipping on its own.  Pecorino cheese would be a terrific accompaniment.
