Of all the producers of Madeira, D’Oliveira has the greatest library of old vintages. Director Luis D’Oliveira has been a staunch defender of long aging in cask and was among the first producers to add bottling dates to his back labels.
This 1937 vintage Sercial was bottled in 2021. Sercial is a dry Madeira, which is best served chilled as a lively aperitif with plenty of acidity. Look for complex layers of aromas and flavors including orange marmalade, toffee, honey, tobacco, nuts, and vanilla.
