Château Vieux Robin Médoc 2018, Bordeaux, France

Château Vieux Robin is a classically-styled Bordeaux from the Left Bank. Hailing from 2018’s harvest, it is open-knit and ready to drink with its time aging in bottle. Look for ripe red currants, cassis, and plums intermixed with tobacco and cedar with a charmingly supple texture. Château Vieux Robin has been in the same family since 1840. Their rouge is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot. It saw 18 months in oak barrels. It pairs wonderfully with traditional Bordeaux fare such as roasted lamb, beef dishes, or aged hard cheeses, and will hold for another five years.
