Allumea Nero d’Avola/Merlot 2021, Sicily
Allumea is a blend of 70% Nero d’Avola and 30% Merlot organically grown in northwestern Sicily. Intensely hued in the glass, it presents scents of blueberries, cherry jam, and baking spices. The palate is a flavorful experience of lush ripe red berries and plums. Allumea is fruitful with no hard edges. Softly structured, it has soft tannins and just enough acidity to brighten it up a bit. This is delicious with salty cheese, spicy pizza or pasta Puttanesca.
