Taste family-grown wines, Weds., 8/27, 5-7pm, complimentary.

One of the things that sets the Boulder Wine Merchant apart from “big wine” retailers is Brett’s focus on family-grown wines like Ingrid Groiss.

For centuries, the Groiss family has grown grapes in Austria’s largest wine-growing region, Niederösterreich, in the northern subregion of Weinviertel.

Weingut Ingrid Groiss operates as a true small family business with Ingrid (above) at the helm, her father helping with tractor work, and her mother assisting in the vineyards.

Ingrid studied winemaking at Universität für Bodenkultur and returned home to eventually inherit vineyards from both her mother’s and father’s sides of the family. Upon taking over the family vineyards, Ingrid converted them to organics and narrowed their range to produce only wines that reflected their terroir, grape variety, and vintage.

One of Ingrid’s wines will be among the labels we will be pouring at Wednesday’s complimentary tasting.

We hope you can join us for what is sure to be an unforgettable tasting. See the wines below and thank you for your support!
