Raincatcher is a Bordeaux-style blend that shows both power and poise. It’s impressive balance and complexity standout at this price point. Jasper Raats is the cellarmaster of Longridge wine estate but he also has his own passion for creating wines that are not always run of the mill. Raincatcher is comprised of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot, 2% Merlot, all biodynamically grown. The wine aged 18 months in French oak , 20% of which was new. Take in its layered aromas of ripe blackcurrants, dark cherry, and plum intermixed with undertones of cedar, tobacco, and graphite. The medium to full-bodied palate has a supple, velvety texture with dark fruit flavors and refined tannins. Look for notes of blackberry, mulberry, mocha, and dried herbs. Grill up a nice steak and treat yourself.
