Vicente Gandia ‘Nebla’ Verdejo 2019

Verdejo is a little known and certainly under-appreciated white grape from Spain. It shows beautiful freshness and an intense, fruity bouquet similar to Sauvignon Blanc. It’s home of Rueda is perfectly suited for growing Verdejo. Its warm days and relatively cool nights help the grapes fully ripen yet maintain a balanced acidity. ‘Nebla’ by Vicente Gandia is a perfect example. The name is an homage to the nighttime fog that cools the grapes and builds natural acidity. A straw-yellow color in the glass, the nose shows ripe tropical fruit notes of pineapple and mango, with subtle herbal tones of fennel and fresh hay. The palate is textured and slightly rich but with that classic crisp burst on the finish. We like to pair this wine with fish tacos!
