The Long Little Dog Rouge 2019
Some wines are made to be taken very seriously, and some wines are just for fun. As you can probably already guess, The Long Little Dog Red falls cleanly into the second camp. A cute pup on the label and good juice, made to be enjoyed during casual conversations. But don’t mistake this to mean the wine isn’t any good. Quite the opposite, The Long Little Dog is surprisingly tasty. The wine itself is made from 50% Grenache, 35% Syrah, 15% Carignan, a classic Southern-Rhone blend. There is an intensity of fruit on the first sniff, full of blackberries and cherries, but deeper notes of herbs and spices appear on the finish.
