Shenandoah Vineyards Zinfandel 2018
Leon and Shirley Sobon founded Sobon Vineyards in 1977. They were one of the first four wineries in Amador County’s now well known Shenandoah Valley appellation. From the first offering of 1,200 cases, the winery has continued to thrive, adjusting the portfolio of wines over the years. It is now producing about 25,000 cases per year. Shenandoah Vineyards is their second tier of wines, offering consumers classic Shenandoah Valley quality at an entry-level price. The Zinfandel is full bodied and only moderately tannic with beautiful structure and strong fruitiness. The flavors are complex, layering bright cherry notes with stewed plums and strawberries. Classically jammy on the palate yet refreshing and lively. Perfect served with a blue cheese and caramelized onion burger.
