Perrini Negroamaro 2020, Salice Salentino

We were intrigued and charmed by this aromatic red.  Aromas of sage blossom lead into bright, crunchy red fruits on the lifted palate.  This is a unique example of Negroamaro since it is not dense or jammy. This comes from Puglia, the heel of Italy’s boot, where there is plenty of Mediterranean heat to ripen (and over-ripen) grapes.  Satiny tannins lend structure to the finish.  This wine is organic and estate grown.  It was vinified entirely in stainless steel to maintain its fresh style.
