Mas Janeil ‘Les Hauts de Janeil’ Syrah-Grenache 2017
Mas Janeil is located at the foot of the Corbières, in the heart of the Agly Valley. Thirty-five hectares of vines, planted on a wide variety of soils with different sun exposure, provide a palette of flavors and textures with which they craft their balanced wines. Mas Janeil’s agricultural and winemaking philosophy is to interfere with the natural process as little as possible, only when absolutely necessary. ‘Les Hauts de Janeil’ is made from 80% Syrah and 20% Grenache. The predominance of Syrah shows complex notes of black fruits, truffles, pepper, liquorice and menthol, while the Grenache balances the wine with notes of strawberry and raspberry. Good roundness on the palate with plenty of suppleness and refined tannins.
