Marine Descombe (Mary Taylor) Beaujolais- Villages Rouge 2020

Marine Descombe’s Beaujolais-Villages is a beautifully pure expression of Gamay from granitic and sandy soils just south of Brouilly.  Following partial destemming and traditional vinification (no carbonic here), it aged in cement tanks for 6 months.  This lovely red greets you with aromas of strawberries and cassis.  On the palate, this wine is light-bodied yet concentrated with delicate earth, blackberry bramble, and velvety tannins on its elegant finish.  It pairs well with seared salmon and tuna, or simple grilled pork, roasted chicken, and is worthy of your Thanksgiving dinner.
