Les Saisons de Bourgneuf Pomerol 2020

Since 2008, Frédérique Vayron has worked at Chateau Bourgneuf as the viticulture and winemaking specialist. Under her leadership, they started producing Les Saisons de Bourgneuf with the 2012 vintage. In a sense, it’s their “second wine.” It is made entirely from a vineyard planted in 2010. The vineyard is mostly Merlot but there is around 5% Cabernet Franc. Frédérique decided that Instead of blending it into the main cuvee of Pomerol, she would make a cuvée that was true to its place but also showcase Merlot in a more early drinking style. The fermentation takes place in temperature controlled cement vats and the wine is aged in oak barrels for 12 to 14 months.
