La Salita is one of our new favorite brands of Italian wine! First we featured the Chardonnay and now we are proud to bring you the Barbera. La Salita is a project from Giuliana Imports that launched last year. After 26 years of importing wines, Giuliana Imports has leveraged their relationships with producers and farmers to produce their own line of wines emphasizing quality and value. While the fruit sources and producers vary from wine to wine, the common thread is that no shortcuts are taken; just quality fruit, traditional farming, and experienced winemaking. Most of the Barbera grapes come from sandy, south-facing slopes in Roero. This soil composition gives the wine tremendous freshness and aromatics, making it perfect for antipasti and tomato sauces.
