Le Clos du Caillou Châteauneuf-du-Pape “Le Tradition” 2018
Clos du Caillou is a well-respected producer in the Southern Rhone Valley. Their Châteauneuf -du-Pape is a full-bodied blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre. Enjoy extroverted aromas and flavors of red fruits, plums, and spices accented by violets and a warm, earthy undertone. The wine was destemmed, vinified in concrete tanks, and aged in large oak foudres, so you will find the tannins to be ripe and velvety. This wine pairs terrifically with leg of lamb with Provencal herbs. We also like to pair it with roasted duck breast with black pepper. Enjoy it now, or cellar it for up to 15 years.
