Faisão Vinho Verde

The “Faisão” (pheasant) is native to Asia, but was brought to Portugal by merchants in the middle ages. It’s brightly colored feathers and natural beauty are in some ways similar to the flavors in this wine: bright, lively, and fruity. The Vinho Verde region is famous for making light wines that are low in alcohol with a small amount of trapped effervescence and a kiss of sweetness. It is bordered to the north by the Minho, which separates Portugal from Spain’s Galicia, to the west by the Atlantic Ocean, and to the south by the mountainous area separating it from the Douro region. Perfect for hot summer days, cookouts, and all-day drinking, this Vinho Verde is a classic crowd-pleaser.
