Since the 1850s, the “Des Chézelles” vineyards have been handed down from father to son and are now in the hands of Philippe Derouet, his wife Catherine and their daughter Aurélie. The vineyards are located on the banks of the river Cher where the soil is chalky clay mixed with a little flint, sand and gravel. The grapes are treated to a slow fermentation at low temperatures in stainless steel vats, resulting in fresh and aromatic wines with excellent structure and length with subtle minerality. Their Sauvignon Blanc shows the traditional flavors of wines from this area, with plenty of fresh citrus fruits complemented by grassy, herbal tones.
