Domaine de la Damase Grenache, Vaucluse, France 2020

The Latour family has been making wine at Domaine de la Damase since they purchased the estate in 1872. Sébastien Latour works the vineyards and makes wine with his parents Bernadette and Serge. Domaine de la Damase is a very small, 12 hectares estate of organically and biodynamic farmed vineyards in the Rhone Valley. Interestingly, Sébastien interned for a year with Kenny Likitprakong of Hobo Wine Company in Sonoma County, which helped to establish the Damase winery in the US. The Grenache is remarkably light on its feet, full of juicy cherry and raspberry notes with tobacco and leather on the finish. Very drinkable, food-friendly, and refreshing.
