Comtesse Marion Chardonnay 2020
The heart of Comtesse Marion is an old Chateau built from black volcanic rock that dates back to the 12th century. As with many French estates, the property changed hands numerous times, but is now under the stewardship of the Vic family. Their commitment is to only use estate fruit for their wines, and farm using neither pesticides or herbicides. The same black volcanic rock that was used to build the Chateau is in the soil on which the Chardonnay vines are planted. The grapes are fermented in stainless steel and no oak is used. A range of red and green apples on the nose leads into a hint of lemon custard. The palate complements the fruit with a generous texture and crisp acidity. Classically French in style, this Chardonnay will appeal to a wide range of wine drinkers.
