Château St. Jacques d’Albas ‘Le Petit Saint Jacques’, France 2020
Château St Jacques d’Albas is situated in the Minervois, tucked in between the medieval city of Carcassonne, the Black Mountains and the Canal du Midi. This winery’s 26 hectares of organic vines are just a portion of their total 60 hectares of forest and garrigue – teeming with wildlife – complete with an 11th century chapel. Their secondary wine is the Petit Saint Jacques, but don’t be fooled, there is nothing small about our Petit Saint Jacques! An exciting Coteaux de Peyriac (IGP) blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Carignane, vinified and aged in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve purity of fruit. Dark notes of plums and violets meet hints of cherry, forming a long and spicy finish.
