Camp Merlot, Sonoma County 2019

Camp Wines is a project of Kenny Likitprakong under his Hobo Wine Company brand. Camp was started in 2013 to showcase the quality and value Sonoma County can offer. Some of the grapes come from their vineyards, some are from friends, but all are farmed responsibly. Their philosophy is one of “unforced winemaking” meaning minimal intervention but also recognising that winemaking is sometimes the act of intervening. Their ultimate goal is to  make wines that have a sense of place and time. The 2019 Merlot is 60% from the organically farmed Mojon’s Bench in Alexander Valley and 40% from the organically farmed Morrison Vineyard in Sonoma Valley. The wine is aged in neutral oak and has a traditional style and flavor, blending dark fruits with aromas of sage and underbrush.
