Bergh Grüner Veltliner, Niederösterreich, Austria 2020
Bergh Ludwig is a winery focused on making wines as naturally as possible, avoiding the use of harsh pesticides, herbicides and additives. The Gruner Veltliner grapes are farmed organically around the Röschitz region in Niederösterreich, on a combination of loess and granite soils. No sulfur is added prior to fermentation, which takes place in stainless steel tanks for about 14 days. The wine is then left to rest for a few months to develop before being bottled. The wine is naturally rich in texture, with layers of green apple, honeydew melon, citrus skin, with a little white pepper on the finish.
