Analemma Syrah “Mosier Hills Estate” 2019, Columbia Gorge
Analemma is an organic and biodynamic grower-producer, crafting wines from Columbia Gorge fruit. This small, hands-on Oregon winery produces characterful wines with a fresh and focused house style. Analemma actively farms the vineyards where their grapes grow and vinifies at their on-site winery. They strive to foster life through a soulful approach to farming and winemaking by embracing regenerative farming practices that actively support the vitality of the land. This winery is dedicated to their philosophies and bottles beautifully distinct wines. Analemma is named for the figure-eight shaped graph that tracks the sun’s position in the sky at a specific time of day throughout the year.
Syrah has delicate aromas of black cherry, anise, rose petals and sun-bathed rocks. The palate opens with fine tannins, fresh acidity, and beautiful notes of blackberry and graphite, which unfolds to a complex finish of rosemary, mint and hoisin. This wine is gorgeous now but will benefit from age.
