2019 Venta la Vega, Adaras “Lluvia” Blanco
Venta la Vega is 225 hectares of organically farmed vineyards located at the foothills of the legendary El Mugrón mountains in Almansa. This privileged location has abundant water and excellent soil, with a natural microclimate that guarantees suitable conditions for organic viticulture. Venta la Vega’s ‘Adaras’ wines give a glimpse of Almansa terroir at an entry-level price. The white is made from 15 year-old Verdejo and Sauvignon Blanc vines planted on clay and limestone soils. It illustrates the remarkable union between these two varieties, since the Verdejo gives aromatic intensity and the Sauvignon Blanc provides more complexity. The skins are allowed to macerate for 2-3 days, followed by pressing and fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Full of fresh apples and subtle tropical fruits that lead into citrus rinds and chalky minerals.
