2019 Giuseppe e Luigi Pinot Grigio
Ettore Anselmi first planted vines in 1937 after he bought two small farms in Pocenia and Dolegna del Collio. These areas are unique and specialize in white wine production. Limestone and clay soils suit Pinot Grigio, Friulano, and Glera very well. The Bora winds from the northern Julian Alps keep the vineyard fresh and dry. Today the grandsons Giuseppe and Luigi continue the family estate. Local success of their wines has grown the estate to 80 hectares. The estate is run sustainably by dry farming and using only natural humus to replenish the soils. The Pinot Grigio comes from 20 to 40 year old vines and is fermented in stainless steel.
