2018 Beau-Rivage Bordeaux Rouge

For more than 60 years, Beau-Rivage has been a reference point for quality by Borie-Manoux, a family-owned wine producer and trading house in Bordeaux started in 1870. Beau-Rivage means “beautiful shore” and is a tribute to the picturesque landscape along the Gironde and the rivers that feed it, the Dordogne and the Garonne. Throughout geologic history, the influence of those rivers created the gravelly soils Bordeaux is famous for — soils that produce some the world’s finest wine. Beau-Rivage made from 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc, all tank-fermented without the use of oak. The wines are made in a very fruit-forward, easygoing style that is meant to drink now. Beau-Rivage rouge shows fragrant blackberry, raspberry and boysenberry with a fruity Bordeaux typicity on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with firm structure and well-integrated tannins.
