Great California Cabernet under $15.

This month’s featured wines selection focuses on value-driven quality, including the Lyeth California Cabernet Sauvignon, a staff favorite and a steal at $14.99.

Here’s the tasting note from our team:

Lyeth’s estate-grown Cabernet is impressively generous for under $15. Crimson in the glass, it offers expressive aromatics of red cherry, boysenberry, and cedar. Rich and luscious flavors with balanced acidity and smooth tannins ensure this is a wine that pairs well with food and entices you to take another sip. Look for flavors of spices, raspberry bramble, cherry, chocolate, vanilla and lavender. Serve Lyeth’s Cab with braised beef, steak, or just a piece of aged cheddar.

This beauty is just one of 12 labels — all under $20 — featured this month. Click here to view them all.

And for next week’s complimentary tasting on Wednesday, February 15, from 5-7 p.m., we’ll be pouring four wines from one of our newly discovered Mt. Etna properties: Monteleone.

At around 700 meters above sea level, Mt. Etna in Sicily has some of the highest vineyards in the world. Located on the slopes of Sicily’s active volcano (yes, active!), these grapes are grown in young volcanic soils. It’s one of the most unusual places in the world for wine and the wines it produces, both white and red, have surprised and thrilled wine lovers with their elegance and depth. This is one you don’t want to miss!

Please stop by next week to taste the following:

Monteleone Etna Bianco 2020 ($33.98)
Monteleone Etna Bianco ‘Anthemis’ 2020 ($54.98)
Monteleone Etna Rosso 2019 ($33.98)
Monteleone Etna Rosso ‘Rumex’ 2020 ($67.98)

Thank you for your support and we hope to see you next week. Happy Valentine’s Day!
