My wife Katie and I bought KYCB 4 pack passes to use with our 2 children last spring break at Keystone. We also bought the travel insurance. We drove from St. Louis, Mo to Keystone on March 13-14, 2020. Shortly after checking in on the 14th, we received news that Keystone would not open starting the 15th. Before leaving and on the drive out, we were continually checking Keystone’s website along with other social media sites prior to arriving. None of them mentioned the possibility of the resort being shut down for the season. I find it very disappointing that Vail Resorts has chosen to not issue full refunds to those of us affected by this closure. Only offering 80% credit towards passes for 2020-21 is a slap in the face, especially to those of us who are experiencing cuts in hours and salary at work. I do not feel comfortable making reservations for next ski season. They are now offering ‘Epic Coverage’ to try to remedy this uncertainty, but this coverage has limits and only offers ‘full or prorated refund’. So, be very careful before you buy lift tickets for next season, because Keystone will not refund your money if you aren't able to ski for ANY reason.…

Keystone is a great place to ski for people of all abilities. It can get crowded on the weekend but weekdays aren't bad. There are a lot of groomed runs if that's what you are looking for. There's a lot of good food choices on the mountain.

Keystone was the only resort open for gondola rides during our trip. We were pleasantly surprised how nice it was at the top of the mountain. You could easily spend half a day or full day there. They had adirondack chairs spread out that you could spend hours on with the sun out looking at the views. We didn’t realize there were so many hiking trails that you could go one that were open.
